I graduated from the Medical College of Virginia School of Dentistry in May 1975. I then completed a two-year general residency at Louisiana State University School of Dentistry in New Orleans. I came to Martinsville in August 1977 and took over the general practice of Dr. Ruff Wheless, who had returned to school to specialize in periodontics. I was awarded a Fellowship in The Academy of General Dentistry in July 1984. Outside of dentistry, I have been very involved in many community organizations and activities. My hobbies are spending time with my family, hunting and gardening in the spring and summer.

Graduated from National University College of Puerto Rico, Associate Degree in Dental Assistant with Expanded Functions on 1999. Then I continued my studies on Pre-Odontology on University Of Puerto Rico, Arecibo Campus. Then I graduated from University of Puerto Rico, Medical Sciences Campus, and School of Dental Medicine in June 2006. I started my private practice in May 2007, on Mayaguez, Puerto Rico with ten years of Dental experience. Member of the College of Dental Surgeons Puerto Rico. Treasurer of Western District of the College of Dental Surgeons of Puerto Rico for 5 years. Work in Dentistry is my passion and make the patients smiles is my goal. My other passion is spending time with my wife Eunice, my kids and my two dogs. Also, I like lifting weights, make exercise, and play table tennis.

I graduated from Christopher Newport University in 2013 and then from Maurice Kornberg School of Dentistry at Temple University in 2018. While at Temple I served as Vice President of the Class of 2018 as well as the Philanthropy Chair for the Alpha Omega Dental Fraternity. I am currently a member of the American Dental Association and the Virginia Dental Association. Dentistry as has been my passion since my undergraduate studies, and I have enjoyed learning new ways to help improve patients’ lives functionally and cosmetically. In my free time I enjoy reading, exercising, and playing all manner of sports.

Dr. Kim obtained his Certificate in Periodontology and DMD degree from University of Pennsylvania School of Dental Medicine, and his PhD in Oral and Craniofacial Biomedicine from University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill.

He has more than 19 years of experience in periodontology and general dentistry. His clinical experience includes but not limited to soft tissue and bone grafting, crown lengthening, osseous f surgery, surgical and non-surgical periodontal disease treatment, and implant.

Dr. Kim is an adjunct professor at the periodontal department of UNC at Chapel Hill. He lectures courses and teaches grad residents and dental students in clinic. Before moving to North Carolina, he had worked as an associate general dentist and periodontist in private practice at Philadelphia. And before that, Dr. Kim was a 1st Lieutenant dental officer in South Korean army.

Dr. Kim was born in Australia. He had lived in Germany and South Korea. He speaks English, Korean, German, Japanese, and Chinese. He loves to ride his unicycle, read books, watch movies, and flaunts his hand skills with DIY home projects!
